Department of Employment is the leading organization which has engaged into employment promotion and job-seeker protection in respect of study and analysis on situation and trend of labour market. The Department of Employment serves as the national center of labour market information. Not only that, but the Department of Employment develops and supports the administrative system of employment promotion in order to provide job-seekers appropriate careers in accordance with their knowledge, ability, and aptitude, prevents job-seekers from deceit and helps job-seekers to receive appropriate and fair benefits. The Department of Employment has responsibilities to:

1. Comply with the Recruitment and Job-Seeker Protection Act, the Working of Alien Act, and other relevant laws;

2. Analyze the situation of labour market and trend of labour demand, and serve as Labour Market Information Center;

3. Develop the system, model, measures, and procedures of employment service, and to establish an action plan to be complied with the labour policy and strategy of the Ministry, as well as specify the Thailand Standard Classification of Occupation and Thailand Standard Industrial Classification;

4. Consult, promote, and provide the vocational guidance service to the public according to their aptitude;

5. Work according to other relevant affairs as provided by laws or to be assigned by the Ministry or the Cabinet.
